Visits

The number of tickets is limited which means they are sold according to availability.

Our stablishment has at it disposal a special and exclusive draft. In order to make the reservation you have to provide in the reception a full name and the number of an identification card, a date and time (you have to be in the Alhambra office one hour earlier) for the visit and the number of people. You can't book more than five tickets by person and number of identification card. We will make the reservation and at your arrival you must pay in cash 1Euro/person in the reception, and we will provide you a voucher and pager, you will pay the tickets in the Alhambra tickets-office. (If you want more tickets you have to provide more numbers of identification cards and names)

Given the great demand we recommend reservation of tickets in advance. The maximum number of tickets per person per day is five (except in the case of authorised agents).

The ticket is valid only for the day of the visit.

Access to the Monument

Admittance is allowed in the morning, afternoon or night according to the characteristics of the ticket (see Types of Ticket), once inside you may stay as long as you wish until the end of the time limit on your ticket.

If you do not have a ticket you should buy one at the ticket office in the Access Pavilion and from there you can enter to the Alcazaba, the Nasrid Palaces and the Generalife. The members of organised tourist groups are not allowed to buy tickets at the ticket office.

If you already have a ticket we recommend you to access to the grounds through the Justice Gate.

 

Access to the Nasrid Palaces

Access is only allowed within the half hour indicated on the ticket, due to the existing maximum capacity control in this space (300 people every half hour). If you do not enter within the given time on your ticket you will lose the right of admittance, once inside you may stay as long as you wish until the end of the time limit of your type of ticket.

The last visiting time is one hour before closing time. First you should visit the Generalife and the Alcazaba because you will need at least half an hour to visit the Nasrid Palaces. Everyone must leave the area after closing time.

How to acquire tickets

 

 

The way you acquire your tickets depends on whether they are for individual tourists or for groups.

 

1. Individual tourists

 

There are two ways, either by buying directly at the ticket office or buying in advance. In both cases the maximum number of tickets per person is five.

 

Direct sales

 

   

With this system you may only buy tickets for the same day of the visit, in the ticket office of the Patronato, situated at the Access Pavilion of the Alhambra , in the times given in the section on Caixa website.

 

   

Advance sales

 

These can be made up to a maximum of one year and a minimum of one day in advance of the day of visit.

The tickets have to be collected at the Ticket Office of the Patronato of the Alhambra on the same day of the visit and you must show the reservation number and your Identity Card or passport. If you do not show the reservation number you will not be able to get your tickets, if this has been stolen, lost or mislaid then the Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria Bank and the Patronato of the Alhambra have no responsibility.

 

Prices

 

The Bank adds to the price of the ticket a reservation commission which is established at 0.88 euros.

Return/cancellation of tickets

 

   

Tickets sold in advance may be partially or entirely returned up to 24 hours before the visit.
Returns can be made in operations in which the booking reference number may or may not be printed out (this number is given when the advance sale is made). If the booking reference is printed, the customer must provide the booking reference print-out, which is an essential requirement.
In order to make returns it is necessary to know the booking reference nº, and the customer must also provide this information.
The amount refunded upon return of tickets will be the full price minus a refund charge of 0.88 euros.

     
 

2. Organised tourist groups (only large groups):

 

Tourist groups will always be subject to the system of reserving tickets.

 

   

Reservations

 

   

Reservations must be made through an agent authorised by the Patronato of the Alhambra , up to a maximum of one year and a minimum of one day before the day of visit.

Cost and deposit.

 

The cost of the tickets will be that which is applicable on the day of visit. A deposit of 20% of the cost of the ticket must be made on reserving your ticket, to which 0.88 euros will be added for the reservation commission.

 

Cancellation of reserved tickets.

 

The deposit for the tickets will not be refunded when tickets are cancelled in either of the following cases:

When there is a difference of over 10% between the reserved tickets and those finally acquired. The deposit will be retained depending on the number of tickets which exceed that 10%.

When the reserved tickets are cancelled less than three days before the day of visit

 

In both cases, a commission of 0.88 euros will be charged for each ticket returned which exceeds 10% of the total reserved.
